1920's York C-Melody ( C Tenor ) Sax

This is a C-Melody ( also known as C Tenor ) saxophone from the 20's, with silver plated body & action, plus very subtle gold-wash inner bell, very characteristic of that era.   Obviously used, but well cared for -  however needs a little tlc to restore it to playable condition.  Mother of pearl main action key-touches, and I suspect the white pads are original, so some will almost certainly require replacing.

Supplied with original neck plug.   Just needs a pillar (original supplied, as shown) for the low C# key soldering back onto the body. As the sax is, this only affects the very bottom bell notes, not the main action. The pillar became detached when the sax was shipped to me, without sufficient packing  Other than one small dint under where the pillar was dislodged, it's really in very good shape.  It's just one project too many for me, and really deserves repairing and a good home.

The serial number is 66552.    Marked 'C-Melody' and 'LP', which signifies standard, modern, A=440 pitch, so it plays in tune with modern instruments.
